Rhagoletis cerasi lure
Rhagoletis cerasi lure is a component of an insect trapping device that uses attractants to lure Cherry Fruit flies into a trap.
The attractant, in the form of the PE sachet, containing Rhagoletis cerasi lure, must be placed in a pheromone trap to be fully functional (traps can be bought separately or in kits with lure).
Using such lure is an economic, environmentally sound approach to either monitor or trap these pests.
The lure in the traps must be replaced every 4-6 weeks to keep attraction rates high.
Shelf life - up to 2 years (optimum conditions).

How to use
- Fill the bottom container of the trap with 200 ml of water;
- Open the packaging of the pest-specific pheromone lure before installation and place it in the trap, using protective gloves;
- Fix the trap to the branch, with the fixing devices, which are included in the set;
- It is necessary to periodically service the trap (changing the attractant, cleaning of pests, etc.), when the trap fills with pests;
- Replace the pheromonal bait every 4-6 weeks; recommended to use protective gloves and wash hands before and after working with the pheromonal bait;
- The bottom of the trap is easily removable from the body of the trap, making it easier to service the trap (for changing attractant, bait or evaluating pest monitoring results).
Positioning
Place the trap near the highest point of the crop, secure it by using supporting posts, at the height of about 1,5-2 meters.
Positioning Density
For monitoring purposes - 1 trap should be deployed every hectare but no less than 2 traps per farm/field.
For mass-trapping - number of traps is subject to pest pressure and locally approved control strategy.
Storing
Pheromone lures should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. For conservation of lures for longer periods of time it is recommended to refrigerate the product, in which case they will be effective for over 24 months.
Replacement
Replace every 4-6 weeks or as recommended by the agricultural authorities. Please keep in mind that the disposal of the old pheromone dispensers should be done away from the monitoring area, to avoid interference with the monitoring process.
Precautions
Handle carefully. Even though this substance is not harmful to humans and the environment it is advised to use gloves when handling the product and wash hands thoroughly before and after handling the lures.
Packaging
The lures are individually wrapped in an airtight foil pouch (to protect it from sunlight and contamination). Each pheromone Lure/Dispenser contains 3 g of ready to use blend.
