Rhagoletis pomonella lures
Rhagoletis pomonella lure is a component of an insect trapping device, that uses to lure apple maggot into a trap.
The attractant, in the form of the PE sachet, that contains attractant for apple maggot, must be placed in a EC Fruit fly Trap to be fully functional (traps can be bought separately or in kits with lures).
Using such lure is an economic, environmentally sound approach to either monitor or trap these pests.
The lure in the traps must be replaced every 4-6 weeks to keep attraction rates high.
Shelf life - up to 2 years (optimum conditions).

How to use
- Fill the bottom container of the trap with 200 ml of water;
- Open the packaging of the pest-specific lure before installation and place it in the trap, using protective gloves;
- Fix the trap to the branch, with the fixing devices, which are included in the set;
- It is necessary to periodically service the trap (changing the attractant, cleaning of pests, etc.), when the trap fills with pests;
- Replace the bait every 4-6 weeks; recommended to use protective gloves and wash hands before and after working with the bait;
- The bottom of the trap is easily removable from the body of the trap, making it easier to service the trap (for changing attractant, bait or evaluating pest monitoring results).
Positioning
Place the trap at the height of about 1,5-2 meters.
Positioning Density
For monitoring purposes - 1 trap should be deployed every hectare but no less than 3 traps per field/farm.
For mass-trapping - number of traps is subject to pest pressure and locally approved control strategy.
Storing
Lures should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. For optimal conservation over extended periods, refrigeration is recommended. When refrigerated, the product can be stored for up to 24 months.
Replacement
Replace every 4-6 weeks or as recommended by the agricultural authorities. Please keep in mind that the disposal of the old dispensers should be done away from the monitoring area, to avoid interference with the monitoring process.
Precautions
Handle with care. To prevent cross-contamination with other products, it is recommended to wear gloves when handling the product and to thoroughly wash hands before and after handling the lures.
Packaging
The lures are wrapped in an airtight foil pouch (to protect it from sunlight and contamination). Each lure contains 2 g of ready to use blend.
